Our MCA Family cares about your child’s success in school and beyond!
Our overall focus and goal is to prepare students to be academically thriving citizens. That no matter what they want to be in life, they will be provided the skills to accomplish it. We build confidence and determination and encourage our students to ask questions and dive deeper into a topic that interests them. We are preparing our students to think for themselves, to have a mind of their own.
MCA’s curriculum contains spiraling, which means that they don’t teach skills and concepts in isolation. We build upon each skill and concept taught from the first day of school until the last day of school. Focusing on grammar strengthens our student’s writing skills and enables them to articulate themselves orally and in writing. In Saxon Math, we focus on the basic concepts that students will need in the future and build upon those skills and concepts so students can advance to more challenging word problems.
Success in reading is the gateway to success and can enrich ALL life experiences. I let our children know how important it is for them to understand how to read. Reinforcing reading at school and home is another step we can take to ensure that they do not become part of the prison system pipeline. As an educator, this is my personal mission. All of our children matter to the staff and faculty at Monroe Charter. For students to be successful, they need role models at school and home to show them the way and then, most importantly, to cheer them on when they soar above our expectations like an eagle.
