Monroe Charter Academy Hires Founding Principal
MONROE, NC- Monroe Charter Academy, is proud to announce that it has chosen Dr. Camela Bell as its founding Principal. Dr. Bell comes to Monroe Charter Academy with a wealth of experience at all levels of education. She has served in the North Carolina Public School System for 23 years where she led as a school administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school level. In 2012, Dr. Bell completed her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at Gardner-Webb University. Her research and statistical analysis specifically analyzed the relationship of Principal beliefs and their effectiveness on student achievement. She earned her Master degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University, as well as her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics at Winston-Salem State University. Dr. Bell and her fiancé, Kedrick, live in Cabarrus County as a blended family with their three children, Chelsie, Zariah, and Jayden.
Dr. Bell has a strong passion for all students and believes in the school’s mission to educate our students to be academically thriving citizens, who will make a positive impact on their communities. Dr. Bell said, “If you’re too busy to help others to succeed, then you are too busy to succeed yourself.”

Monroe Charter Academy will be hosting a Parent Interest Meeting at their school, 200 Tomberlin St. Monroe, NC 28112 this Thursday, January 31st at 6:30PM.
Monroe Charter Academy is a planned K-5 charter opening in August of 2019 with 288 students in grades K-3. Charters are public schools, run by a non-profit board of directors, and are free to the public. The school will provide a rigorous classical education model using the Core Knowledge curriculum. Monroe Charter Academy will be located at 200 Tomberlin St. Monroe, NC 28112.
