This is Ashleigh Lanzone’s second year as a part of the Monroe Charter Academy family. Ms. Lanzone has been working in special education classrooms for the past ten years, in both the resource and self-contained settings. She is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, where she lived until 2014. Ms. Lanzone has previously taught in Union County in the public school and charter school systems and serves as an advocate for local families. Ms. Lanzone graduated from McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, in 2009 with her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and then again in 2012 with her Master’s in Special Education. She also holds a certification in Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte in 2018. Currently, Ms. Lanzone is a doctoral candidate for a Ph.D. in Special Education Leadership from Capella University. When Ms. Lanzone is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, traveling, going to Disney, and riding her new Peloton bike.
