I have some great news regarding our lunch program.  We have partnered with Chef Reuben, he is the owner of Taste of Heaven Café.  Chef Reuben grew up in Washington, DC. and has always had a love for cooking. With his mother and grandmother’s help, he developed his craft while cooking meals for family and friends at various family functions. After graduating High School he began his study of Culinary Arts at The Art Institute of Atlanta, becoming a Chef and working in some of the finest restaurants throughout Southeast continuing. Reuben began a career in Restaurant Management in 2004 and has been a Certified Manager in many different restaurant concepts. 


Our lunch program will begin on Monday, September 30, 2019 and the meals will cost $5.50 per day.  Here is the menu for this upcoming week. In addition, I will be sending home menu for the month of October in your child’s Friday folder.  The deadline to order your child’s meal for the upcoming week will be by noon on Saturday. You will send in cash or money order (payable to Monroe Charter Academy) on Monday to pay for your child’s meal for the week.  Please make sure to read the order form carefully.

2019-20 Missing/Emergency Lunch Procedure

We understand that sometimes lunches are forgotten or left at home. If you realize a lunch is missing and would like to bring lunch to your child, please bring the lunch to the front office by 11:00am each school day. In order to minimize classroom disruptions and protect the time of faculty and staff, we cannot guarantee that teachers will check for missing student lunches and contact you prior to the start of the lunch period.

MCA  will keep a limited amount of emergency lunches on hand. Because we want to make sure every child is fed during the school day, if a student does not come to the lunchroom with a lunch or pre-purchased hot lunch, an emergency lunch will be given. An emergency lunch consists of a Turkey Lunchable, 1 Granola-Bar, and maybe a juice box or bottled water. The cost of the lunch is $3.00 and all fees should be paid to the front office the next school day. You will be notified via email if an emergency lunch has been issued.
