Our Principal

Dr. Camela Ford comes to Monroe Charter Academy with a wealth of experience at all levels of education. She has served in the North Carolina Public School System for 28 years where she led as a school administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school level. In 2012, Dr. Ford completed her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at Gardner-Webb University. Her research and statistical analysis specifically analyzed the relationship of Principal beliefs and their effectiveness on student achievement. She earned her Master’s degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University, as well as her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics at Winston-Salem State University. Dr. Ford and her husband, Kedrick, live in Cabarrus County as a blended family with their three children, Chelsie, Zariah, and Jayden.​

Dr. Ford has a strong passion for all students and believes in the school’s mission to educate our students to be academically thriving citizens, who will make a positive impact on their communities. Dr. Ford says, “If you’re too busy to help others to succeed, then you are too busy to succeed yourself.”
